❤️That tiny calf trailing behind its mom in this photo is a big deal! It’s the first scimitar-horned oryx to be born in the wild in almost 30 years. Scimitar-horned oryx were extinct in the wild until a herd of 23 were reintroduced to Chad last summer. Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute scientists are tracking the oryx with satellite collars. #WeSaveSpecies
