Iranian artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian’s work is included in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Victoria and Albert Museum. In her 20’s, Monir moved to NY & made friends with artists and contemporaries Louise Nevelson, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and Joan Mitchell, & curatorial circle at The Met. She also collaborated with Andy Warhol on illustrations for Bonwit Teller department store. She worked with Milton Avery on printing techniques — some of which work were presented at the Iran Pavilion during the 1958 Venice Biennale. In 2015, she was the subject of a major exhibition at @Guggenheim Museum in NY.
