Heeey IG friends! I made a Kabocha macaroni and cheese using fresh herbs and @frontiercoop Organic, nonGMO nutmeg to bring all the flavors together. Nutmeg is fabulous in sweets, but it also lends a warm and slightly sweet complexity to savory recipes, especially this time of year. Just a pinch is my secret ingredient in soup, galettes, and casseroles! I’ve partnered with @frontiercoop to highlight #nonGMOmonth. Have you heard? It’s a month dedicated to spread awareness about the importance of supporting nonGMO agriculture. Important because over 80% of GMOs grown worldwide are engineered for herbicide tolerance (nonGMO project). Increasingly these crops are sprayed with toxic chemicals in an effort to control weeds. But super-weeds have emerged due to this practice which means even more toxic chemicals are used to control them. It’s a never ending toxic deluge . Bad for people… bad for all living things we share our planet with . Look for the nonGMO certified butterfly, and even better, nonGMO and organic!
