#OnThisDay in 1919, the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) was created. In 1932 RCA became the main tenant for the building at the heart of John D. Rockefeller, Jr.’s new complex: 30 Rockefeller Plaza. It would be called the RCA Building until the late 1980s. The complex also included the majestic Art Deco-designed International Music Theater, which was renamed in RCA’s honor—Radio City Music Hall. To this day, it’s the largest indoor theater in the world, measuring 160 feet from back to stage, and the ceiling reaches a height of 84 feet. #nyhistory #30Rock
