This camera made the Ruby Slippers, well, ruby. Technicolor cameras like this one used a three-strip process, which provided a full range of color.
Previous versions only rendered shades of blue-green and red-orange. The three-strip process allowed Dorothy to leave behind Kansas grays for the rainbow hues of Oz.
Technicolor made the Ruby Slippers sparkle the first time. Now it’s YOUR turn to keep them sparkling. Dorothy’s shoes are nearly 80 years old and in need of conservation care and a brand new state-of-the-art case. Back our Kickstarter project #KeepThemRuby (link in profile) and help put the slippers on display in our new culture exhibition. #WizardOfOz #MovieMagic #HollywoodHistory
