This is my reaction to realising that I’m enough as I am Recipe

This is my reaction to realising that I’m enough as I am, and being TOTALLY happy with that. ✋ There’s so much urge for comparison in this world. It’s something we are all guilty for during some stage in our lives. I spent a long while comparing myself to everything else. To my family, my peers, my idols and even my enemies. My self esteem was dependant on how I perceived myself compared to others. I always came up short. So much time and energy went into worrying about what they were doing that in the process I was completely missing out on life. I lost sight of what was truly important, I sacrificed memories and laughter by replacing them with comparison and despair. It wasn’t worth it. Over time I’ve learnt to not only accept who I am, but love who I am also. I still have moments of regrets, and times when I come to question whether what I’m doing is ‘right’, but those moments are just that. They don’t last for long. Having found a routine that works for me, I have since made a promise to never let myself down again. I value my life more than that. I may no longer be stick thin, but that wasn’t me. I didn’t love my life and I certainly wasn’t healthy. Often our role models and ‘ideal lives’ aren’t all they’ve cracked up to be. Unfortunately it took me to get to that place to realise it. I hope that one day we will all come to the realisation that things will never change. We are who we were born to be; without the need of conformity. You are wonderfully individual as you are, and a world without you wouldn’t be the same. No matter how amazing your role model, or how beautiful your best friend is, they will never, ever, compare to you. Loving yourself isn’t vanity; it’s sanity xxx
