Today’s #LiveandLifePhoto @Instagram Takeover by @eauditalie of @Hikari.creative concludes with a photo of her own: “I took this photo at Venice in January 2016. It reminds me very much (mutatis mutandis) of #Atget’s “Ruelle des Gobelins” featured in “Masterworks of French Photography.” The stillness and the silence surrounded me entirely. Not a breath of wind could be felt, nor a sound heard. Venice was shrouded in fog; the normally overcrowded city was, for one brief moment, entirely mine. This feeling of possessing an empty scene (often made possible by waiting long enough for everybody to disappear) is one of the most exciting aspects of photography—I’m pretty sure Atget felt the same way.” Join us this week as our 5-day #LiveandLifePhoto takeover by #HikariCreative continues with @emencher as tomorrow’s guest.
