You can bash social media all you want, say it’s changing culture, ruining society, depleting values of relationships, but one thing you can never deny – and I believe this goes for anything – is the inherent good it does.
We tend together tunnel vision in life; we believe something one way, and then dance around trying to defend that one thing, prove it, disprove it, whatever. We come up with arguments, theories, conspiracies, compare experiences, knowledge, whatever else all in the hope that our focus point at the end of the tunnel is realized.
But if you look at our last post, and you see the amount of strangers who came together to share their experiences on growth, and the post before that where people are given an incentive to be kind at random – you see some awesome things happening in a community otherwise “doomed”. People are not bad. I’ll never believe that. Intentions aren’t always in alignment, ideals differ, life changes, growth, experience, all of it is so beautiful its uniqueness but we tend to close ourselves off.
In order to be a part of anything you have to put in the effort! You gotta try! Ask yourself: Why do you hate that type of person? Why are you so angry at A, B, or C? What really drives your sadness or your hurt, or your rage? What’s the root of it?
When you see yourself distancing from someone, cringing, purposely avoiding certain situations; why do you think that is? The moment you can genuinely address to yourself why you feel a certain way is the first step to changing it.
Ya gotta be open with yourself.
It’s so incredible to see so many people gathering together to just support one another, y’all rock.
Seriously, I highly recommend going and reading the comments on the last photo: “GROW”. Awesome stuff to wake up to.
