An image taken by NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft on July 14th 2015 shows a region near Pluto’s equator with a range of mountains rising as high as 11,000 feet. The 1,050 – ound piano sized probe passed within 7,800 feet of the dwarf planet. New Horizons was launched on January 19th 2006 aboard an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida and zipped by the planet on July 14th. Credit: NASA #Pluto #NASA #NewHorizons #spacecraft #flyby
