Comedian Jerry Lewis goes into one of his howling funnyman acts as he feigns fright when encountering Togar, a pet lion belonging to nightclub entertainer Kalanilehua in May 1955. Lewis, who was in Chicago to perform with singing partner Dean Martin in their All Star Hollywood Revue at the Chicago Stadium, had employees and passersby’s in the La Salle Street Station in stitches as he put on an impromptu rib-tickling act with the animal. Lewis is best known as the manic, rubber-faced comedian who burst onto the post-World War II show-business scene with partner Dean Martin and together became the hottest comedy team of their era before launching his own highly successful solo career a decade later. His publicist announced his death today at age 91. Read more about Jerry Lewis here: http://trib.in/2xgywev #vintagechicago #lasallestreetstation #jerrylewis #icon #comedian
