Michael Snow has long been considered an early pioneer of video art, but his practice has also included sculpture and photography. In this piece, “Authorization” Snow underscores the simultaneous presence of the artist making the work and the viewer looking at it by mounting the prints on the same mirror used to create them. It also makes for some pretty meta selfies! You can see it for yourself, on view now at the National Gallery of Canada in “Photography in Canada, 1960-2000” through September 17th. @natgallerycan #MichaelSnow #Repost @shuwen_prin #jackshainmangallery #onviewnow #museumfieldtrip
