Our #WCW goes to the founder and CEO of the first ever Black woman-owned full service security firm, Mary Parker.
After moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 2001, Parker founded ALL-N-One Security in the kitchen of her home, where, in the same year, she launched her then home-based business with only about $500 dollars. Now, her trailblazing company has become a multi-million dollar security business and one of the biggest and most well-trained fully-certified security firms in the nation. Parker has even had President and First Lady Obama as clients, who were, along with the U.S. Secret Service, protected by Parker’s firm when they were in Atlanta to deliver commencement speeches.
Parker’s advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is this: “Develop a posture of strength, develop a posture of can-do’, develop a posture of turning ‘no’s’ into what it is you want it to be, and also develop a posture of comradery – knowing that we get nowhere by ourselves.” Yes! Ms. Parker, thank you for blazing your own trail and being an inspiration to all those that want to pursue entrepreneurship.
