Robert and Ruari Tait are both members of the Caterpillar Club. The Club was formed in Ohio in 1922 and the only membership requirement is to have successfully used a parachute to bail out of a stricken aircraft. The Prince of Wales met Robert and Ruari during today’s visit to the Airborne Systems parachute factory in Bridgend, Wales. Ruari is the youngest person on the register to have saved his life by parachute. He was just 12 years old when he and his father bailed out of their glider following a mid-air collision in Aberdeenshire.
