The Grand Canyon. This American Crown Jewel, often called an outdoor Sistine Chapel has delivered awe, humility, respect and even fear into my mind. Sometimes its beauty can mask it harshness—and its fragility. The challenges we faced in the first 650 miles and 60 days sleeping in the rocks continued in varying forms, but we adapted and learned, step by step. Protecting this landscape, as we discovered, faces even more challenges. This week, we drop back in to complete our journey.
