This is the ‘Lifejacket Graveyard’ in Parliament Square. Activists laid out 2,500 lifejackets near the Houses of Parliament, which were worn by refugees who risked their lives crossing the perilous waters between Turkey and the Greek island of Chios. 625 of the jackets were used by children. Today, the United Nations meets in New York to discuss the refugee crisis. According to the UN Refugee Agency, 11 men, women and children have died across Europe every day over the past 12 months. #lifejacketlondon
