Throwing it back to a month ago when #POWRidersAlliance pro @thatdakotajones got his letter to the editor about the impacts of coal mining on public lands published in the Durango Herald! Here’s what Dakota had to say:
“On Independence Day, I tried to reflect on what makes this country great. As a professional trail runner, I spend a lot of time in the outdoors, and for me, the answer is undoubtedly our public lands. America introduced the world to a unique concept by acknowledging that they hold value simply by existing. Whether mountain, desert, forest, grassland, or ocean, each is a reason to protect these places that we all own, as Americans.” Want to know why he thinks expanding the King II Coal Mine on our public lands near his home in Durango is a bad idea?
