We took a nice photo together. It needed to be documented.
But seriously, I wanted to share one of the biggest learning curves that Jack and I have come to realise about what makes a relationship work.
Firstly, yes, Jack & I show you the highlights on social media & YouTube etc but it is not always roses and plain sailing.
We have had to work hard to make our relationship what it is today. The biggest change we have made this year is to truly spend time together without plans, without stress and without pressure.
Before, if we had a weekend where we were both free we would cram it full of social events or workouts or date ideas and actually would get SO stressed about fitting it all in. That would cause us to get grumpy with each other and that’s not what we wanted when we only have limited time to hang out.
SO, this year we have made a conscious decision to SLOW DOWN. We both have frantic jobs and so when we do get free weekends, and free time we choose to go at our own pace. For example, yesterday we actually did lots of fun stuff, but it wasn’t pre-planned, it all kinda happened. By taking the pressure of a ‘schedule’ away, we pottered through the day and really took time to enjoy each other’s company.
Today, we didn’t set an alarm, woke up at half 10 and it’s almost midday and i’m still in my PJ’s. And it feels good to know we have the day ahead of us to explore and have fun and spend quality time together without any stress!
Anyways, I know this isn’t really health & fitness related, but I always want to try and pass on things I have learnt and this has been on my mind. So hopefully it’s relevant to you too & may help in some way.
Enjoy your bank holiday . #BestMe #girlgains #weekend #stressfree #lessonlearned #couple #relationships #happy
