Well hello there! This inquisitive and super-cute Australian fur seal pup was recently photographed by @wildoceantasmania on one of their Tasman Peninsula tours. Australian fur seals are the most common seal in Tasmanian waters. They breed on small isolated rocks in Bass Strait between October and January and also ‘haul-out’ (rest and socialise) at various rocky areas around the Tasmanian coastline – especially outside the breeding season when many seals disperse from the breeding colonies. There are a number of eco-tour operators around the state that offer the opportunity for you to see Australian fur seals in their natural habitat. When their pups are this cute, who can resist? Thanks for tagging #discovertasmania, Wild Ocean Tasmania.
